RingSurf Ring: Dr. Phil's Weight Solution |
This ring is for
people who are interested in, have found success on, have been frustrated
on, or who otherwise want to read about
Dr. Phil McGraw's weight loss challenge and
ultimate weight solution. It is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by
Dr. Phil, his companies, or his producers;
it was started by someone who lost weight and changed her life successfully,
happily, and healthily by following his advice, guidance, and philosophy,
and reading his books. A fan of Dr. Phil's since his Tuesdays on Oprah, and 38-year-old woman who's been overweight since college, I started the weight loss challenge on June 2. I started at 183.5 pounds--10 pounds less than my all-time high 10 years ago after plenty of yo-yoing in between, but plenty heavy for my 5'7 inactive frame nonetheless. I started reading the book and the food guide the week before, but started officially on 6/2 because that's when my first grocery order would be delivered (I order groceries, which also means no temptations from candy aisles!). Anyway, I was expecting to lose about 1.5 pounds per week on average over the long term. But I am nine weeks in and have lost 22.5 pounds--2.5 pounds per week. Best of all, I do not feel like stopping. Not because some chart says I should keep going or because I still feel fat or because I have to fit into some particular size. But because I am still losing and I'm eating healthily and I figure my body will let me know when it's ready. I may have five, 10, or 20 more pounds to go. But what I do know is that I am really really REALLY happy with the changes on the inside, with how I think about my body and food and life now. That has never happened with any of the other things I've tried in my life. So yes, I'm excited that I'm lighter in weight than I've been in at least 15 years (I've lost track now), but I'm more satisfied that my thoughts have changed and I feel like a healthy person in my brain. My happy, healthy, wrinkly brain. Join the ring See a list of sites in the ring See a random site in the ring |
